I want to make a couple of announcements about some of the upcoming things I will be doing on the site. The first announcement deals with the new season of Bible study. My new season of Bible study will begin on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. This will be the fourth season of bible studies that I have done here on the website.
In the new season of studies, we are going to take a deeper dive into scripture that I either reference in a sermon, Sunday school lesson, or Food for Thought. I am going to still be release studies every other week – so, essentially twice a month. This keeps me from stretching myself too thin with having to prepare sermons, daily verses, and Sunday school commentaries.
Speaking of which, you have probably noticed that I have began to cut back on getting the daily verses out every day of the week – Monday through Friday. This has been happening because I am trying to keep myself fresh and not completely wear myself out! There is a good chance that this will continue to happen for the foreseeable future.
At the moment, my goal is to send out at least four verses a week. I am going to do my best to send out a verse Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning along with a brief thought. Thursday night I begin preparing my sermon and am typically unable to get a scripture ready to send out on Friday morning, so do not expect scriptures on Friday morning. There may be some weeks where I can only get two or three verses. If you ever feel you have missed a verse, be sure to come to the site and click on the Daily Verse tab.
Future Sunday School and Sermon Posts
I want to make one last announcement about Sunday School and Sermon posts for the future. Since March, I have been posting both sermons and lessons on Sunday morning (10:45 a.m. & 11:45 a.m.). As we are intending to start back worshiping in person very soon, and my goal is to continue posting my lesson commentaries and sermon text at the same exact time.
However, when we do start back worshiping in person, there will be no audio available for the sermon until after worship. IMPORTANT NOTE: we will only be worshiping in person on the third Sunday of the month! What you read next is only intended for third Sundays!
Since we will only be doing sermons in person, the audio for the Sunday school lesson will be readily available at 10:45 Sunday morning. The sermon audio will likely be available around 5:00 p.m. (Could certainly be available to listen to a lot earlier in the afternoon.)
So IF you have gotten use to listen to the audio as soon as the sermon is available, starting October 18, 2020, the audio will not be readily available on third Sundays only! This will only affect those who listen to sermons the morning the sermon is posted. If you listen to sermons throughout the week, you will not notice a difference.
