God Won’t Ever Keep His Word from You

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

Don’t fall for the devil’s lie, because God’s truth is always available to you.

Today’s devotional: Proverbs 2:1-9

God is not one to keep His wisdom hidden from you. The great deceiver, the devil, has deceived many to believe in the idea that God is hiding things from us.

In His word, God has told us that He created all things, and He even shared the order in which all things were made. God has also warned us that this creation has a ticking clock, it will come to an end. Even more than that, the Lord has shown us what the new day to come will be like. God has told us what we must do so that we can be a part of that new day.

So, what should you do if you feel like God has hidden truth from you?

  1. Ask for wisdom. Do you remember Solomon and how he asked God for wisdom? God has no desire for you to be in the dark. Jesus told His disciples that they were no longer servants but were His friends. The reason for the change, Jesus explained, was because a servant doesn’t know what his master is doing, but Jesus made all things that He heard from the Father known to them. We are also friends of Jesus, as His divine truth has been revealed to us. So, if you need clarity and understanding, don’t be afraid to ask your friend for more understanding.
  2. Quiet your thoughts. A lot of times, we lack clarity because we’re too busy listening to every voice we can hear, except for the voice that matters. The Holy Spirit speaks in a “still small voice” (1 Kgs. 19:11-13). Again, the Spirit’s role is to guide us into all truth (John 16:13), but we can’t be guided to that truth if can’t hear his voice because we’re listening to everyone else.

Try taking these two steps, and also add in a bit of patience, and you will see that God is always talking to us.
