Stop Taking on Life by Yourself

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

No man can overcome life, the world, by their own strenght and power.

Today’s devotional reading – 2 Thess. 3:1-5

Allow God to go before you. Taking on life with all of its challenges by yourself is impossible – you will need help. Of course, it is good for the child of God to be surrounded by good help in friends and family. Yet, even that good help will have its limits as there are things that none of us are capable of doing.

There are doors that no man can open, but God can open them. There are wounds that no doctor can heal, but God is more than able to heal. There are battles that we don’t have the power to win, but God is Almighty and can win every battle.

God has promised: To renew your strength (Is. 40:31); to shield and protect you (John 10:29); to supply your every need (Matt. 6:31-34); everlasting life (John 3:16).

What’s most beautiful about these promises is that God is faithful to keep His promises. All the Lord asks of us is to believe and have faith, while He takes care of the rest. So let us stop trying to do the impossible when we have greater help, who has promised, and desires, to work the impossible for us.
