Desire to Follow God’s Lead
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
There is a way that might seem right but its end is no good.

Today’s devotional reading: Psalm 25:4-10
Is your way better than God’s way? One of the greatest things that many struggle with is putting God’s way, His desires, above their own. The reason why is because we are intelligent beings. In our intelligence, we not only think we know everything, but we also think we know best – nobody knows better than us.
In the day of his affliction, God challenged Job, asking him, “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth (Job 38:4)?” As much as we think we know, God is the Creator. God made all that is seen and unseen, known and unknown. What we think we know, God has a complete understanding of – He is omniscient.
If you desire to gain truth – wisdom – would you seek one who understands or one who has to guess?
Humble yourself under God’s hand. Our “wisdom”, on its own is limited compared to God. Our wisdom will lead to hardship and trouble rather than a blessing. God will lead us to the blessing. As David said, we may traverse through the valley of the shadow of death, and we may even sit before an enemy, but God prepares a table for us and blesses us.
Today’s an opportunity to humble yourself, follow and learn from God, so that you know the way to your blessing.
