Your Faith Can’t Go On Vacation
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
Your faith should be alive and well, especially during a time of great tempation like today.

Today’s devotional reading: Luke 21:34-36
In this period of waiting, Jesus told us to watch and pray because the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak (Matt. 26:41). There are many temptations in this world that can distract and pull us away from the Lord. For example, we are quick to call out sexual temptation, but today, the temptation to move out of bitterness, anger, and apathy is truly great.
What must we do to not fall into such temptation? We must be faithful in what we have believed. We believe in God – His love, grace, and mercy. We believe that God will provide for us and supply our every need. We believe that the Lord will bring us through the storms of life. Therefore, we believe that by the hand of God we will overcome all of our trials, tribulations, afflictions, and infirmities.
If we walk by faith, we have nothing to fear. We ought not fear others. Such fear is what has caused man to move against man, woman against woman, and child against child. Fear is the driving force behind not caring about what others deal with and go through.
Don’t fear man, fear God. If we fear the Lord, then we will move in a manner that will please Him. One will strive to move in obedience so as not to make God angry with them. Fearing the Lord is a good mindset for one to live with. When fear of God is absent, that is when man will fall.
