Praise Him! The Firstborn Over All Creation

No man is able to get us the victory that Christ won for us. There is no one greater than the only begotten Son.

Today’s devotional reading: Psalm 89:19-29

Ever since the garden, man has had it in his mind to establish his preeminence through a desire to bring about “world peace”. Yet, in trying to establish his authority, all man has done is move further and further away from the Lord. Man’s thirst for “power” has been the cause of much suffering in the world through wars and violence, oppression and bitter hatred.

God sent His only begotten Son to show mankind the way to peace and serenity. Christ came preaching love and faithfulness, with one loving the Lord and keeping the sacred command to love one’s neighbor. For this message, the Son was despised and hated. For showing mankind a way that is the opposite of that of the world, God’s only begotten Son was nailed and hung on a cross.

The Son is worthy to be praised because in Christ, we have been given great power to win the day. Christ, being the example of faith, showed us how to defeat and overcome hatred, lust, covetousness, and greed. For this, Christ is certainly worthy of our praise and we should be praising Him at all times in how we live!

So, in all of our struggles, you and I ought to follow the example of the firstborn of the day to come. When we choose to follow His example, that is when we begin to know His peace. When we choose to follow His example, that is when we begin to win on this battlefield.
