No Need to Presume What God Desires
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
Shouldn’t the child of God do exactly as God has instructed? What God desires is quite clear.

Today’s devotional reading: Leviticus 10:1-11
There is no need to presume what God desires mankind to do. God’s instructions are quite clear for mankind to know. God desires for man to love Him wholeheartedly, and in that love, He desires that we love each other as we would love ourselves (Matt. 22:37-39). In such a love, mankind would flourish and prosper – we would be fruitful and multiply (Gen. 1:28).
God’s children don’t have to presume what the Lord desires for us to do. With the command to love our neighbor as we love ourselves in mind, Jesus commissioned His followers to minister love and salvation to all people.
When it comes to God’s instructions, all the child of God has to do is follow them. God does not ask us to do anything more than what He instructs. God does not desire for us to do less than what He has instructed. Yet, many of us move in a manner that either falls short of His instructions by refusing to love our neighbor. Or, many of us go beyond what God has instructed by becoming insufferable in our ministering of the gospel.
For by grace we have been saved, and it is that same grace that will save those who are around us. We must move in a Christ-like manner. As Christ submitted Himself to the Father’s will, the child of God ought to do the same. When we submit ourselves to the Father’s will, then we will fall in alignment with Him and do just as He desires.
