On Bended Knee for a Divine Healing

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

Now is a time where all of us should be reaching our hands out to the Lord, calling on His name.

Today’s devotional reading: Mark 3:7-12

As Jesus walked the earth, people were often desperate to lay their hands upon Him or to simply be in His presence. The woman who had a flow of blood for a dozen years desperately reached for the hem of his garment, believing she would be healed. The sinful woman came to the home of a Pharisee just to be in His presence and wash His feet, desiring to receive His mercy. Greeks would come all the way to Jerusalem just to meet Him.

Jesus healed all comers. Jesus showed mercy and forgiveness to all comers. Regardless of whether one was a Jew or a Gentile, Jesus showed great compassion. Whether one was an adulterer, fornicator, or had a disability, He showed great compassion. Whether one had an unclean spirit or was of great faith and humility, Jesus showed great compassion. Desperate and in great need, He never turned anyone away.

We live in a time when one may refuse to help or love another because of their race, nationality, gender, etc. We live in a time when one refuses to help another, regardless of how desperate one may be. David said that one ought to taste and see that the Lord is good. We’re living in a time where all of us must call on the name of the Lord and enter into His presence!

Whether you are strong in the faith, weak in the faith, or of little to no faith, clean or unclean, I encourage you to call on His name and enter into His presence. God isn’t like us, in that He is a merciful and gracious God who will open His heart to you and pour out His grace, mercy, and blessings upon you. If you’re desperate and pressing in this moment, again I urge you, enter into His presence and God will make a way.
