Shielded and Protected in God’s Loving Care – Ps. 27:1-14
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
It is better to dwell in the care of God than dwell without Him in a wilderness

Today’s devotional reading: Psalm 27:1-14
There is safety in being in the hands of God. Jesus told the disciples that the Father is greater than all and no one can snatch His sheep out of His hands (John 10:29).
There is also providence in God’s hands as the Lord tends to our needs.
David sang out, “The Lord is the light of my salvation”, and then he asked, “Whom shall I fear?” David was a man who spent his teenage years fighting as a warrior against the Philistines and then he spent most of his twenties on the run from King Saul. By the time he became king of Israel at 30, David had a testimony about how God had delivered him from much trouble.
David learned a lesson that all of us should also strive to learn. In Psalm 63:1, David said he learned to seek the Lord early and often, which is to say, he lived in total dependence on God. He enjoyed a close fellowship with God and found that God always made a way for him. Even when he felt like he was in the shadow of death, he learned not to fear or worry because the Lord made a way.
When you dwell in the care of God, you will find that God will always make a way for you, even when that way may appear to be closed. When your heart is troubled, try not to worry as often as you might, because you’re in the loving care of God, and again, God will make a way for you.
