Transformed into a True Reflection of God – Ex. 34:29-35

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

Those who choose to reside in the presence of the Lord will be transformed into His holiness

Today’s devotional reading: Exodus 34:29-35

Moses’ face shone with the glory of God every single time he met with the Lord. The more Moses met with the Lord, the more he soaked in God’s glory and was being transformed to reflect it.

All of God’s children ought to be reflections of the Lord. You see, we dwell in the presence of God through the inner dwelling of the Holy Spirit who leads and guides us into all truth. You may not realize it, but the work of the Holy Spirit is a transformative work in which He is transforming you, and all believers into the glory of God. For that reason, Jesus tells us that we are to shine as lights in the world, as a city on a hill whose light cannot be hidden (Matt. 5:14).

Not everyone is going to enjoy the glory of God radiating from you. Moses had to put a veil over his face because the people feared him and the glory shining from his face. Many will desire that you veil the glory of God radiating from you. In fact, if you don’t cover up living in God’s glory, they may even try to put out your light.

As Paul said, we must not hinder the work of the Holy Spirit by being conformed to the world (Rom. 12:2). God has not saved and delivered us from sin just to cater to the desires of the wicked. No, we live in a world today that needs every bit of God’s glory to be reflected! So, let us further dwell in God’s presence and reflect His glory – His love, grace, mercy, and kindness – to all of those around us.

Do not veil the light of God radiating from your heart, from your soul.
