Earth Is Your Temporary Home – Heb. 9:1-14
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
We are but sojourners here in this earth, headed towards an eternal home.

Today’s devotional reading: Hebrews 9:1-14
God gave His only begotten Son for a purpose. God has a desire that goes back to when He first made mankind in His image, according to His likeness. The Lord made us with the desire to dwell with us eternally. Yet, mankind chose sin and disobedience rather than living in fellowship and harmony with the Lord.
Sin is not one you should desire to enter into fellowship with. With its heavy weight of guilt and wickedness, sin shatters and destroys souls. This is not the desire that the Lord has for the soul that He breathed into mankind’s nostrils.
God gave His only begotten Son to reconcile all things to Himself, which includes our relationship with the Lord. God gave His only begotten Son so that we who choose to love Him, may live eternally with Him. Many think of God, not as the sovereign ruler who will judge sin without hesitation or regret, but as one that we can be bartered with in the end.
Yet, in the end, there will be no mercy on the sinner who thought this world to be equal with the kingdom God is preparing (John 14:1-3). There is a choice to be made today as we but sojourners in a temporary world. The choice: dwell with God eternally, or dwell apart from Him. The Lord opens His doors for you to dwell with Him, and I certainly encourage you to enter the doors that the Lord opens.
