Christ the Living Proof of the Father’s Faithfulness
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
If you ever doubt the truth and love of the Lord, remember He gave the world His only begotten Son.

Today’s devotional reading: Luke 1:27-33
When Gabriel announced to Mary that she would give birth to the Son of the Highest, she questioned how she could give birth when she hadn’t lain with a man. Mary, while she may not have realized it, was questioning God’s capabilities. God is all-powerful, and He can do all things but fail.
Something that many of us don’t realize is that Jesus is proof of the Father’s faithfulness. After Adam and Eve’s sin in the garden, the Lord promised to defeat the serpent through the seed of a woman. God had called on the name of Christ in the garden, and in His covenant with Abraham, He promised that all nations would be saved. Then to David, God promised that his throne wouldn’t end through his seed, and one would sit on his throne forever.
Every prophecy of Christ, whether through Isaiah or Micah, was met and fulfilled by the Lord. Christ was born through a woman as the Holy Spirit came upon and overshadowed Mary (Luke 1:35). Christ was born in Bethlehem, coming through the seed of David. Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was given to become our propitiation.
AS He is the only begotten Son of God, Christ is proof of God and His love for us. Christ is why we can be confident that God can do all things for us. So, if you’re ever feeling in doubt, struggling in your walk of faith, always consider the giving of God’s only begotten Son as proof that God loves you.
