There Is Healing in God’s Presence

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

If you are in need of healing, shouldn’t you go and see the Great Physician?

Today’s devotional reading: 2 Corinthians 12:1-10

Do not think that you will live in this world without affliction and tribulation. In Psalm 34:19, David sang, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”

In his second letter to the Corinthian believers, Paul spoke of a time when he said he was caught up to the third heaven – God’s domain. The time period of that happening is around the time when Paul was stoned to death at Lystra (Acts 14:19); God restored his life to him as his time was not yet up. Afterwards, Paul spoke to the Corinthians about a weakness, a thorn in the flesh, that he cried out to God about. Again, the Lord was Paul’s strength and helped him.

Paul said that in our distress and in our weaknesses, God’s grace is sufficient to heal and to help us. There is healing in the presence of God, and He desires for you to come to Him so that you may be healed in your soul.

Do you not remember Christ’s invitation? Christ said, “Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matt. 11:28).” God doesn’t want to keep His healing touch from you, but how many of us will enter into His presence for such healing?

Making matters worse is that God is already there with His children, as He dwells with us. When you need God’s healing touch, don’t ignore the one who is right by your side. Cry out to the Lord, and God will make you well physically, mentally, emotionally, and most importantly, spiritually.
