The Dwelling of the Chosen

This world is not the dwelling place of God’s choosing for us – don’t you be mistaken.

Today’s devotional reading: Deuteronomy 12:8-14

We do not have rest today, and there is certainly a reason why. No matter how much one thinks they have the authority to bring about peace, the only thing man is capable of doing is bringing about more chaos. The reason why there is no peace today is because sinful man does not know peace. The way of the foolish (the sinful) is a way whose end is destruction (Prov. 1:32; 14:12; 16:25).

If one truly believes they can find a piece of heaven in this sinful world, they are truly blind to what heaven will be. The place of God’s choosing is a place where God said there will be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying (Rev. 21:4). The works of wickedness will have no place in the eternal dwelling of promise, as sin and wickedness will be cast away (Rev. 20:11-15).

In the dwelling place of God, the Lord has shown us that we will eat from the tree of life and drink from the river of life. In the dwelling of God, there will be great rejoicing all the day long as we will dwell in true rest – the eternal peace of God.

Don’t be mistaken about this world and those who rejoice in the riches of this world today. This world is sinful, and those who rejoice in it are of sin. Such joy is temporary because this world is temporary. God is preparing for you a far greater weight of glory.
