Keeping Hope Even in Darkness
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
We must never forget that the one who is sovereign over all things is our everlasting hope!

Today’s devotional reading: Psalm 42:3-6
There is always hope, regardless of what you’re dealing with or going through. In times like now, when there is war, hatred, and bitterness spreading all over, there is still a hope for all of us.
Oftentimes, when we find ourselves surrounded by grief, pain, and suffering, we forget that we still have hope. Forgetting you have hope, you should understand, is what your adversary wants you to do. The adversary will always attack you in a manner to wear you down so that you may feel hopeless and, therefore, powerless to do anything. Without hope, one does not move, and on this spiritual battlefield, a spirit that doesn’t move is a defeated spirit.
In times like now, we must remember that God is our hope. God is the one who is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. God is the one who is Almighty. God is in control. God is the one who can defeat the workers of wickedness, those who continue to spread darkness, trying to rob the world of all hope.
You don’t have to feel hopeless in times like now because the one who is the Almighty is still watching over both you and this world. Cry out to Him! Remember that He is God, and that He is there to lift you up! When your hope rests on the Lord, there is nothing that can overwhelm and overcome you.
