Safety, Security, Peace, and Prosperity in God
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
Let us never think that the kingdoms man establishes is greater than that which the Lord will do.

Today’s devotional reading: 1 Kings 4:20-28
The riches of the Lord are unmatched! However, to enjoy His riches, one will need to heed His direction.
During Solomon’s reign as king of Israel, Israel got a taste of the riches of the Lord. Adversaries like the Philistines had been subdued under the leadership of his father, King David. The possessions and treasures of Israel were many. Solomon’s kingdom was so great that the queen of Sheba came, admired, and turned her life over to the Lord.
However, Solomon’s kingdom had a ticking clock on it as it eventually came to an end. Earthly kingdoms inevitably come to an end due to the sin of man. What man establishes without God will always fall apart. That said, Solomon’s kingdom gave a glimpse of safety, security, peace, and prosperity in the kingdom to come.
When He comes again to reign on earth, Christ’s kingdom will easily trump Solomon’s kingdom. During the Millennial kingdom, there will be no threats. The Millennial Kingdom will be the wedding feast of Christ and His bride, and it will be a joyful occasion. Moreover, the Millennial Kingdom will be another glimpse of the eternal kingdom to come.
In the eternal kingdom that is being prepared, God said that there will be no more death, nor sorrows, nor crying, nor pain, as God will have cast the grievances of sin away from Him for all of eternity (Rev. 21:4). In that tomorrow, there will be safety, security, peace, and prosperity where the one who chooses today to heed God’s instructions will live with no worries.
