Ephesians 4:17-24 – Has Your Walk Changed?

Are you a refelction of one who walks in a Christ-like manner or one who is a spiritual Gentile?

Today’s devotional reading: Ephesians 4:17-24

There is a question that believers must answer every day: Are you living Christ? If you have confessed with your mouth and believed in your heart that God raised Christ from the dead, then you ought to live to show yourself approved (2 Tim. 2:15).

When Paul wrote to Timothy, saying, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God,” the context was of being a worker who rightly divides (teaching or ministering) the word of God. We often think that teaching and ministering God’s word is done solely by the tongue. Yet, the believer does more ministering through their actions than they ever will through their words.

You are a minister of God, every one of us, who has made our confession of faith with the heart. Therefore, everywhere you go, everyone you interact with can and will testify of your ministry. As a confessed believer, what is it that will be said of your ministry? Will it be that you went about in a manner that does not show yourself approved by God?

A transformation takes place in the heart of the confessed believer, as one ought to permit the Holy Spirit to dwell in and move within them. When one submits to the Holy Spirit, He teaches Christ (John 16:13-14). Having learned Christ, one’s walk ought not be as one who is a Gentile in the spirit, but rather, one’s walk ought to reflect Christ. The testimony that ought to be spoken of you is that you walked in a Christ-like manner with conduct that is holy and righteous.
