Eliminate Hypocrisy and Honor Christ In Your Actions | Rom. 15:1-2

Romans 15:1-2 NKJV

I feel like we’re living in a day that reminds me of the people during the days of Micah. Miach was a prophet of the Lord who lived during a time when, as he said, the people hated good and loved evil (Mic. 3:2). Rather than listening to the prophets of God, the people rejected them and turned to false prophets who was accommodating of the people’s sins.

The word of God has shown us, repeatedly, that we are to respect life, love life, and care for life. Today, however, we’re so quick to kill life. When I say that, I want to be clear that I am not talking about murder in the sense of physical murder. There are so many who claim to be “pro-life,” yet their actions say they are “anti-life” if one chooses to live differently from them. I want to be very clear when I say that scripture doesn’t mince any words when it comes to how we ought to live with all of those around us.

Jesus called on us to love our neighbor. Here, Paul stays within the framework of Christ’s teaching when he speaks to how we, who are strong of faith, ought to carry ourselves. Paul doesn’t encourage us to live self-righteously. Paul encourages one who is at a higher level of faith to bear with one who may be at a lower level of faith. Rather than thinking about getting and being ahead of those around us, Paul said we ought to live to please those around us, uplifting them!

It is incredibly hard for one to proclaim to be of Christ when their every action is selfish in nature. As Paul pointed out, Jesus did nothing to please Himself! Jesus always sought to uplift those around Him. That is how you, the child of God, ought to live today. Live in consideration of others, uplifting them to higher levels. This is the manner of Christ, our Lord.
