God Is Not Lost Or Confused

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

God is the Creator of all things and has set the ordinance of everything in His creation.

Today’s devotional reading: Romans 11:33-36

God establishes, and He does. Going all the way back to the beginning, God commands, and His commands are done. As Daniel said, “[God] changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings (Dan. 2:21).”

Do not forget, God is in control. God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, nor are our ways His way – God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours (Is. 55:8-9). Several things happen to us that don’t make sense, no matter how hard we try to figure them out. Several things happen all around us – to our family, friends, and strangers alike – that don’t make sense, no matter how hard we try to figure them out. Yet, the child of God ought not be moved by what happens to them or happens around them.

Trust in God’s will. If you say that you believe in God, then trust in Him. Trust that God is faithful to His promise. Trust that God’s thoughts towards His children are not evil, but are of peace, a future and a hope. More than that, trust that God, the one who is Sovereign – the Creator of all things – knows what He is doing!

God is not lost on what He is doing. Neither is God confused about what He is doing. God knows exactly what He is doing, and He does not need any of our help! What kind of help could we give to the omniscient – all-knowing – God? God doesn’t need us getting in the way. Let us stop trying to force God to move! Be patient and your patience will carry you well into the blessings of God.
