God Will Never Abandon You
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
All of God’s children should always remember that God is a gracious and merciful God.

Today’s devotional reading: Psalm 37:23-34
Do you fear losing your salvation? Do you worry about being punished by the Lord. It is good for one to fear the Lord and His wrath, if in that fear, you do your best to live in obedience. As Proverbs 1:7 tells us, fear of God is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom.
Without obedience, it is impossible to please God. Believers must put forth their best effort ot live in obedience. Yet, even in our best effort, we are going to still fall short because we will inevitably err. When we err, some of us see our sin as the end of the world. Yet, sin is not the end of the world because God gave His only begotten Son for us.
God does not forsake you because you err. In our faithfulness, we must remember that the Lord calls on us to come before Him when we err. No, the Lord does not call for us to come before Him so that He may judge us after our sin. No, the Lord tells us that when we come before His throne and confess our wrongdoings, He will be merciful and forgiving.
Coming before the Lord, even in our sin, is an important key to obedient faith. At no point will God abandon you. At no point will God not forgive you of your sins. God is with us, and He will guide us.
Let us put forth our best effort to be obedient, and God will be pleased.
