God’s Mercy Endures Forever!

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

There is beauty in God’s mercy that all of us should truly be grateful for.

Today’s devotional reading: Psalm 100:1-5

Comfort yourself in God’s grace. Understandably, many of us fear the Lord because we fear His judgment; we don’t want to be punished by God.

When the Lord passed before Moses, He proclaimed to be merciful and gracious, keeping mercy and forgiving for generations and generations (Ex. 34:6-7). God gave His only begotten Son, showing His love and mercy to all.

Rather than believing that God desires to condemn us today, let us keep in mind that God’s thoughts towards us are not evil. God’s thoughts are of peace, a future, and a hope (Jer. 29:11). God desires for you to thrive in this world. This is the reason why the Lord welcomes us to come to Him.

God, having already shown us mercy, should comfort us and remove any fear we have of being condemned by Him. Our fear should move us to do everything we can to not lose the love and favor of God. So, let us do all we can to be grateful for the God’s mercy – don’t be afraid to go to God, to lean on Him, and depend on Him.
