Helpful Guidance When Prayer Feels Difficult

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

Prayer doesn’t always come easy for us, but there is a great hand we can lean on when we’re struggling with prayer.

Today’s devotional reading: Romans 8:26-28

Prayer help is available. Praying comes easy to some of us, but at the same time, prayer doesn’t come easily to all of us. Many are afraid and even ashamed to talk to God. Yet, we ought not ever be afraid or ashamed to pray to God because He has provided us with great help.

The Holy Spirit is our helper. The Holy Spirit knows us inside and out; He knows all of your needs and all of your desires. The Holy Spirit serves as an intercessor (a mediator) to go before the Father on our behalf. So, in those instances when you go before the throne and you’re struggling to make supplication, the Holy Spirit will speak up for you so that your desires are made known.

There should bring comfort to our soul because all of us are going to have our trials and tribulations. There are going to be days of great difficulty when we just don’t know what to say. So it is good to know that while we are struggling, the Holy Spirit is always active on our behalf. When you don’t know what to pray for, just cry out to the Holy Spirit to speak on your behalf.

God does not want to see you fail. We ought to keep in mind that God’s thoughts towards us are of peace, a future, and hope. God wants to help you, so never be afraid or ashamed to go before His throne. Our helper will stand right by your side and help to lift you up.
