Only Together Can We Achieve Success
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
Do you think that God made man to oppose each other and hinder each other on the journey to success?

Today’s devotional reading: John 17:20-23
Trying to go at things alone is impossible. One of the greatest tragedies of mankind that we have never overcome is the idea that one is superior to another. In mankind’s earliest history, going back to the book of Genesis, we see where men crowned themselves as kings. Man felt the need to lord over and oppress those they thought were inferior to them. Even in present day, our society is plagued by the mindset that think itself superior to another because of the color of one’s skin.
God created us to dwell with one another. The Lord made us with desire for man to live together and to flourish together (Gen. 1:26-28). Every single person walking this earth needs help from someone. I say those words as one who be extremely introverted in my ways. Yet, without my loved ones, I would certainly not be where I am today, enjoying what I love, and being uplifted in my times of need.
This is what the Lord desires from us: to pray for each other, support each other, and uplift each other anyway we are able to do so. You see, when we love each other, that gives room for me to lift you to success and room for you to lift me to success. When we work together in such love, we both can prosper. However, when we fight each other, we hurt each other, and neither of us prosper. This is why our society has seen no true progress, socially, dating back to ancient times!
If only we can unite together as one! As Paul encouraged, and as Jesus prayed for, we must learn to come together and be of one accord so that we can all trend together in an upward direction.
