Open Up Your Heart and Believe

Belief and growth takes place in the heart but is your heart open to growth?

Today’s devotional reading: John 12:36-43

Many say that if they were there to see the miracles of Christ and to hear Him preach, they would believe in Him. Yet, scripture shows us that even though Christ had done many miracles before the people, there were just as many who did not believe. Scripture shows us that there were many who heard Him speak, and yet, they did not believe.

If you think about it, there are many today who are ignoring what they are seeing and ignoring what they hear. You may think that many are having the wool pulled over their eyes but that is not the truth. You see, many have made up their minds about all that is taking place today, and so regardless of how much truth you share with them, their minds are made up.

This same thing holds true when it comes to believing in God. There are many miracles that happen on a daily basis, and many refuse to believe because their hearts are closed to believing in the Lord. I am a miracle of the Lord, and I testify of what He has done for me, along with several others who do the same, and yet, we are also ignored. The ministers of the Lord are ignored today because minds have been made up.

Even in our faith journey, there is always room for growth. We must always be open to spiritual growth, as we’re led by the Holy Spirit. By faith, we are transformed daily, so let’s not hinder our growth by shutting ourselves off from the Spirit. Open up your hearts today, continue to believe, continue to grow, and continue to flourish by the Spirit.
