Our Eternal Dwelling With God in Perfect Peace – Rev. 21:22-27

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

One day we will dwell in a place that does not know nor welcome sin.

Today’s devotional reading: Revelation 21:22-27

Heaven will be like nothing you see or dwell in today. Many mistakenly believe that they can find heaven in this world but that is a lie and impossible.

In the Revelation of Christ, it is repeatedly shown and told to us by Christ, that Heaven will be pure. The glory of the New Jerusalem, our heavenly home, will shine with the glory of God, not needing a sun or a moon. In the New Jerusalem, there will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain. In the New Jerusalem, we will eat from the tree of life, and drink from the pure river of the water of life. Our heavenly home will be a place of perfect peace.

Why should we dare think that can be found in the world that is defiled by sin and wicked people, who follow in the way of Satan? This world is filled with violence and the earth screams in all the blood that has been shed upon it. This world is filled with great death, worry, crying, and pain. We live in a world where the child of God ought to always be crying out for the Lord to have mercy on us, as wickedness does its best to tear us apart.

The food and drink of this world bring temporary satisfaction. The wealth and riches of this world bring temporary satisfaction. You should desire more than what this can give. You are worthy to desire better than this world can give. I implore you to look to God and desire His treasure as it is truly worthy of being sought.
