Don’t Let Today’s Sorrow Ruin a Wonderful Tomorrow
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
Weeping may endure for a night but joy will certainly come in the morning. Do you believe in a wonderful tomorrow?

Today’s devotional reading: Romans 8:18-25
Hope is a powerful ally. In the story of Job, the devil inflicted pain and sorrow trying to get Job to denounce his faith in God. Yet, Job remained faithful. Then Job’s wife told him to curse God and die. Job remained faithful. Then Job’s friends sat and spoke against him, rather than console him. Job’s friends made him feel a great deal of sorrow, yet Job still believed he would see his redeemer.
In the day of his affliction, Job remained hopeful and that hope powered his faith in God. I also think of the story of Naomi, a woman who lost her husband and her children. In essence, Naomi lost everything, but rather than sitting in defeat, she remained faithful and returned home. Naomi’s hope powered her to see the day that she and her daughter-in-law, Ruth, were blessed.
In this day, there is a great deal of hurt and sorrow filling this land. The devil still desires for man to denounce faith in the Lord. The question we must answer is will we stand firm or will we give up our hope? As Paul said, while the sufferings of today may seem great, they pale in comparison to the glory of tomorrow.
As believers, let us remain hopefuly and let that hope empower our faith. Our faith will deliver us from all evil.
