The Great Responsibility of God’s Stewards

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

God’s stewards ought to bring light, love, and hope into an ever growing dark world.

Today’s devotional reading: Jeremiah 23:9-15

We believe in grace, mercy, patience, truth, and forgiveness for generations upon generations. We believe in these things because we have said that we believe in God. God has shown grace and mercy for generations upon generations upon generations. Because of God’s grace, mercy, and great patience towards us, we are filled with much hope to keep pushing forward no matter how dire things may be.

So, if we believe in these things, shouldn’t we move in them? God’s stewards ought to put into action His grace and mercy. The stewards of God ought to put into action His patience and forgiveness. Putting these things into action is what faith it – faith is seen in our actions. If only today’s “Christians” would move in such a manner! There would be great hope that fills this land and the whole world!

Many Christians are failing their great responsibility. Many profess to be of Christ, but fear and hatred is what moves them, rather than grace and mercy. Moving with fear and hatred is taking away the spirit of hope in this land and all over the world, leaving many without hope. The greatest damage we can do to one another is cause each other to feel hopeless.

The last thing a true Christian would do is take away the hope of another. We have a great responsibility tht we ought to strive to fulfill because one day, we will be held accountable for our actions. Will you stand before the Lord as one who chose hope or one who chose fear?
