Transformed Not Conformed

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

Are you living in a manner that set you apart from the sinner or are you joining the sinner in their sins?

Today’s devotional reading: Romans 12:1-2

God’s desire is for you to take on His image. The question that you have to answer every day that you live and breathe in this world is whether your desire is the same as God’s desire. If you desire take on the image of God, then you will put forth effort to live according to His command.

What has God commanded you? The Lord has commanded that we love Him wholeheartedly, and in that love, we should love others. All God wants from His children is for us to love. Is that so difficult to do?

We certainly make loving one another a difficult thing to do, as we don’t love each other. We choose not to love one another over foolish and silly reasons. We despise each other over the color of our skin, the language we speak, nationality, and beliefs. God certainly didn’t create us in an image to despise one another over such foolish reasons.

As a child of God, you must rise above the petty differences of the world. Again, we must let the Holy Spirit have His perfect within us so that we may learn to abound in the same grace that God abounds with. If you and I cannot abound about in such grace, as Paul said to the Thessalonians, what would be the point of saying we believe in Him?

The goal is the kingdom of God, right? Do you really think the Lord will permit you into His kingdom if love was never apart of your being?
