When One Door Closes, God Will Open Another
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
Every day is a new day and God’s blessings are new in each of them.

Today’s devotional reading: 2 Cor. 2:12-17
God won’t close you off. We all have moments on this journey when we feel that our trials and tribulations are keeping us from our blessings. This can lead us to blame God for being set against us and blocking us from our blessings. Job expressed this same thought about God after he had lost his children, his livelihood, and had been physically afflicted by Satan (Job 19:7-10). Yet, by the end of his life, God had blessed Job double all he had lost.
Tribulation leads to blessings. It is true what David said, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Ps. 30:5).” It’s also as Paul said, “All things work together for good to those who love the Lord (Rom. 8:28).”
When you feel like doors are being shut to you, it is not the end. Sure, we miss out on opportunities, but at the same time, there are times when God shuts doors because what’s behind those doors aren’t beneficial to us. God has His will, and we must trust in His plans over that of our own.
Let us learn to trust in God’s will and that His will is for us to be blessed. As the old saying goes, “when one door closes, another door will open.” If you trust in God’s will, it will be Him opening that door to your blessing.
