Who Do You Say Christ Is?

Does your actions match who you say Christ is? Our actions should align with Christ.

Today’s devotional reading: Matthew 16:13-20

Do you say that Christ is the only begotten Son of God? If you believe Christ is the only begotten Son of God, then you believe He is God in the flesh. If you believe Christ is the only begotten Son of God, then you believe in the purpose of His earthly manifestation. Christ was given to the world becausae God loved the world (John 3:16). God gave His only begotten Son to save the sick and to lift mankind up from the penalty of sin.

You believe in grace, mercy, forgiveness, and salvation. God could have condemned the world before giving it His only begotten Son, yet He did not condemn it. God loved it. God could condemn the world today, yet the Lord shows mercy. God continues to give mankind an chance and opportuntiy to know His only begotten Son.

If you say that you believe Christ is the only begotten Son, then you must walk in that belief.

1. You ought to impart the same grace that God has shown to you in the giving of Christ. Christianity is not a religion; it is a service of imparting grace.
2. You ought to move with and show mercy to others. Christ does not ask His followers to be a judge of condemnation (Matt. 7:1-2). Show mercy to those who are hurting and suffering. Show mercy to the needy. Show mercy to those who are less fortunate than you are. Lift them up!
3. You ought to be forgiving. Christ does not instruct His followers to make the burdens of another heavier. We are to help lighten the spiritual burdens of another (Gal. 6:1-2).
4. You ought to bring salvation to another. Invite others to know Christ. Christ does not command us to be dictators! We ought to be encouragers and persuaders (2 Tim. 4:2).

If you say Christ is the one you believe to be the only begotten Son, your actions ought to align with His.
