Who Has Power Over Your Spirit?

You believe in the Lord God Almighty who is the sovereign over this creation! So, what you doing being afraid of anything or anyone?

Today’s devotional reading: John 2:19-22

We give way too much power to our adversaries, those who don’t have any power. Yes, I say to you, we give power to man that he does not have. We also give power to the devil that he also does not have. In Psalm 27:1, David sang that God was his light, salvation, and the strength of his life. Then David asked, “Of whom shall I be afraid?”

We believers, should be asking that question, rather than always being so afraid. What can man do to you? The first thing we will say is that man can harm, and man can kill us. We will say that the devil can harm and that the devil can kill us. Yet, I will ask you this question: Are you certain they can kill you? Do they have that kind of power over you?

Jesus told the Jews that they could destroy “this temple” and in three days He would raise it. The Jews thought that Jesus was talking about Herod’s temple, but Jesus was speaking of Himself. The Jews had Jesus crucified, and three days later, He rose from the grave, showing that He is the one who has the power and authority, not them.

In Ezekiel 18:4, God said through the prophet, “All souls are Mine.” Man may be able to touch your body, but they cannot touch your soul. Satan may be able to touch your body, but he cannot touch your soul. God has put a hedge around you, as He is the one who keeps your soul. Why do you fear what powerless people and beings can do to you when you are in God’s hands?

Because of your faith, you will be raised at the last day and there is nothing that nobody can do about that!
