Food For Thought

25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

Matthew 12:25 NKJV

We know how that old saying goes, right?  “A family that prays together stays together.”  I certainly believe this to be true because of what I have personally witnessed myself.  I believe a family that prays together not only stays together but they work together and they uplift each other.  Sure, there are going to be disputes, but such a bond of fellowship can’t be broken.

Well, what do you think it could mean for a community if a community of people prayed together?  Our community, over time, has moved further and further away from prayer as younger generations don’t have faith in prayer.  As Jesus said, divided kingdoms are brought to desolation and divided houses eventually fall over.

I feel that we are at a pivotal moment in time where, as a collective community, we need to restore the values of faith.  I preached on this notion earlier this year, but we must return to have a faithful prayer life.  I truly do believe that a community that prays together will grow together even closer.  I truly do believe that a community that prays together will be incredibly close together in fellowship.  Such a fellowship would do nothing but flourish.

So, little by little, let’s train each other up in prayer because that’s certainly needed today.  One trains up another, and another trains up another – this is how we can grow together in true strength.
