Are You a Light in the World? | Mark 4:21-22

21 Also He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? 22 For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light.
Mark 4:21-22 NKJV
In a world that is filled with much darkness from all the lies and hatred, I must ask you a question. Are you adding to the growing darkness in the world or are you answer your calling as a child of God? We often talk about being God’s children, but I have to ask do you act like Him? Jesus was in the world as the light of the world.
Jesus essentially posed a thought: what purpose is a lamp if its intentionally covered up? Lamps are used to light the way, right? Lamps are used to reveal what darkness hide. When you enter into a dark room, what’s the first thing you do? You certainly don’t try to walk around in it in the dark. As God’s children, we must understand that there is a purpose and a reason that God keeps us in the world.
While so many try to convince the world that a lie is the truth, we ought to shine a light on what is the truth. One who is a child of God should not be the author of confusion. No, we are supposed to be authors of the holy, righteous, and divine truth. We are to move in the holy, righteous, and divine truth. You are to be a light in the world that reveals what the growing darkness tries to hide.
