Are You Trusting in Yourself Over God? | Prov. 28:26
Read This Passage: Proverbs 28:25-2626 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be delivered.
Proverbs 28:26 NKJV
There are many people living in the world today who absolutely refuse to follow God directions. Why is that? Many suggest that they don’t need God’s help for anything! Many suggest that they have free will and can do whatever they wish. Some move with a mindset where they truly believe they have the power to bring forth their own blessings. I would be sarcastic and say “more power” to those that have such a mindset but nobody should think this way.
Firstly, this mindset is one full of pride and self-righteousness. Pride, as we all know, eventually hits rock bottom when it runs wildly and the self-righteous one is blind, and again, they will eventually stumble as well. Secondly, this mindset, as the book of Proverbs makes plain and clear, is the mindset of a fool. Proverb after proverb speaks how the path of a fool is one that heads in the direction of destruction (Prov. 1:32) and the companion of a fool is one that will suffer (Prov. 13:20).
I don’t know about you but I desire to be blessed! To get to my blessing, I much rather trust in God’s directions than my own guesses – they won’t lead me anywhere but to a headache! So, I encourage you today, if you are one that refuses to follow God’s directions, stop going in the pathway of a fool! I encourage you to walk wisely, follow God’s directions, and you will find what it means to truly be blessed.
