Be at Peace With God

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

Do you think that God is at war with you, blocking you from your blessings? You should certainly think again!

Today’s devotional reading: 2 Corinthians 5:18-21

God is not at war with you, but are you at war with Him? Many believe that God is the biggest obstacle they face on this journey. Yes, many believe that God prevents them from the job they want, the car they want, the house they want, and even the love life they want.

On the other hand, God has made peace with all of us through His only begotten Son. To those who choose to heed His voice, God will guide and show mercy. Does this mean that God will correct you? Absolutely. In fact, if you truly desire to inherit the kingdom of heaven, you ought to cherish God being devoted to helping you enter His kingdom.

However, if you think God is preventing you from enjoying life, you should think again. As Paul said throughout Romans 1:18-32, God gives those who push away from Him over to their uncleanness, lust, and vile passions. Yes, God will give you over to a debased mind to do those things that are sinful, if that is your desire.

So, if you’re struggling to obtain the riches of this world, don’t you put that blame on the Lord. If you’re going to blame anyone, maybe blame those who hoard the riches of this world for themselves. If you’re going to blame anyone, maybe blame yourself for being unable to obtain those riches by your own strength, power, and intelligence. You see, the Lord isn’t much concerned about earthly riches because His riches are far greater. So, if you’re struggling to obtain worldly riches, you’re not at war with God; you’re at war with yourself and the world.

When the day comes, and you’re tired of being at war for riches that Satan and the world promise to give, but never give, the Lord will welcome you with His arms wide open. However, don’t you wait until it’s too late because the hour is coming, and now is, when one ought to be worshiping the Lord in spirit and in truth.
