Be Sure to Armor Up | Ephesians 6:16-18

Read This Passage: Eph. 6:10-20

16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints

Ephesians 6:16-18 NKJV

As a child of God, we should all know that each day of our journey is another day where we are going to be tried by those that oppose us and that certainly includes Satan. Many that have walked in this world before us have fallen to the cunning deceptions of the devil; they fell for every lie and every temptation. Why so? Because they were not wearing the armor of God which meant that they left themselves wide open to the devil’s attacks.

The real shame is that there are many today who have not learned from the lessons of yesterday. What I mean by this is that there are many who fall for the lies, temptations, and cunning deceptions of the devil. Why so? Because, just like those of the past, they aren’t putting on the whole armor of God. As a child of God, it is important that you be sure to armor up in the whole armor of God. You see, the armor of God can shield and protect you so that you don’t fall for the deceptions of the devil.

Paul tells us that with the armor, God also gives us a weapon of attack – the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. You should always carry the word of God with you as well because with the word, you can push back against the devil. By the word of God, you can stand bold and tall in this world; you can stand full of courage to persevere and overcome every obstacle and all of the odds. So, I encourage you today to armor up and take your sword with you every step of the way.
