Food For Thought

For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Romans 10:3-4 NKJV

All roads point to, lead to, and end at Christ. As the Lord said, “I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that to Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall take an oath (Is. 45:23).”  The word that went out was the Word who was with God in the beginning, and was God, and also became flesh (John 1:1, 14).

No matter what one does in their life, they will have to stand and face judgment.  Paul understood this very well and throughout his writings, he spoke about how he cast away everything in order to know the Lord.  Paul put away his own self-righteousness as it would do nothing for him when he stood before the Lord.  Paul had a heavenly desire and not an earthly desire.  What about you?

Paul’s concern was about self-righteousness and shedding it for humility.  Do you have this same concern about yourself? If we all understood that our road ends with us standing before the Lord, maybe we would put on humility.  If many more of us understood that we will bow at the name of Jesus, just maybe, we’d let go of what keeps us from loving others to then be able to love.

I want you to consider today where your road is taking you and how you will be judged. Will you be judged to be righteous or to be wicked because you remained full of self-righteousness?
