Don’t Be Afraid to Approach God’s Throne
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
Let us go boldly before God’s throne and find grace in time of need.

Today’s devotional reading: Psalm 111:1-10
God is love, and in His love the Lord is both faithful and just to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). However, for one to be cleansed from their unrighteousness, they must go before the throne of grace and confess their sins to Him.
Understandably, some of us are either too afraid to approach God’s throne or we’re too ashamed to approach God’s throne. It is good for one to fear the Lord, but that fear should drive us to live in a manner that pleases the Lord. We ought not to let fear keep us from going to God in times of trouble.
You have a High Priest who, as Paul said, sympathizes with your weaknesses (Heb. 4:15). Christ, our High Priest, will advocate and intercede on your behalf! Though He did not give in to sin, Christ knows and understands the temptation we face as He was tempted while in this world.
Now is not the time for judgment, but rather, now is the time for compassion. The Lord’s mercy -His compassion – is new every morning and they do not fail (Lam. 3:22-23). You can approach His throne with no fear of being judged guilty for your sin(s) as all the Lord desires to do is lift you from the mire of sin. So, don’t let fear keep you from God as such fear is an enemy of salvation.
