For all of you that have been attentive to the word of God, I ask you today: Do you know that you have been appointed as a watchmen of God? Yes, this scripture was directed to those of Israel, but all of us who are of sincere faith have been commissioned by Christ; we have been commissioned to go unto all people are share the good news of God’s gospel with them. Do you see what the Lord has said to you?

A watchman, you should understand, is one that would be posted along the walls to keep watch for any sign of danger. God tells us that we should never hold our peace, day or night! We should be sounding the alarm today about quite a few things: 1. The birth and life of Christ. 2. The salvation given to the world through Christ. 3. Christ is coming again. 4. God will punish sin and the sinner.

You and I, as the Lord has said, should not keep silent about these things. Why shouldn’t we keep silent? Because our warning can save the lives of several people. As James said, those who turn a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sin. Our role as a watchman is of great importance! So, don’t ever hold your peace, or keep silent, when you are able to help save souls!
