Embrace God’s Correction, Don’t Fight Him | Deut. 8:3
February 13, 2025
3 So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.
Deuteronomy 8:3 NKJV
A few things you’re doing today that might be incredibly toxic and harmful to your soul: being impatient, being doubtful, and being overly prideful. In our impatience, some of us can’t wait on God to bless us – that’s not healthy. In our doubt, some of don’t believe God will bless us – that’s not healthy. In our pride, some believe they don’t need God – that’s far from healthy.
The children of Israel learned just had bad these things were for the soul when they were made to wander in the wilderness for forty years. The children of Israel could’ve entered the land of milk and honey earlier but their soul wasn’t in the right place. When your sould isn’t in the right place, God is going to work on you. If you don’t heed His voice, He will continue to let you wander in life, permitting life to have its way with you. For His child, the Lord will let you wander to the point you realize that you need to make a healthy decision for your soul
When they wandered in the wilderness for forty years, the children of Isreal learned that they needed to live by His every word. When you’re impatient, remember that you need to live by His every word to receive His blessing. When you doubt the Lord, remember you need to live by His every word to receive His blessing. When you’re prideful, God will humble you to remind you that you need to live by His word. If you’re so prideful that you ignore the need of God, He will let you continue to wander the wilderness with a debased mind.
What the soul needs is the bread from heaven. Consuming – digesting – the bread from heaven gives strength to the bones and life to the soul. God has offered this bread of correction for us to consume, will you push it away or will you choose to make the healthy decision for your soul and partake in it.
