God Created You to be Great | Ps. 139:15-16
September 25, 2024
15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
Psalm 139:15-16 NKJV
Do you know that God created you to be great? For most of us, it is hard for us to think that God desires for us to be great. Why is that? Why would we think that the Lord doesn’t want us to be great? Oftentimes we just ourselves not according to what God has done for us but according to what others have.
We will think to ourselves, why did God not give me what that person has? That is a form of covetousness which can lead to jealousy. As you should know, covetousness, jealousy, greed all work against the spirit and are thoughts of the flesh. David considered how the Lord framed him before he ever stepped foot into this world. David said of the Lord, “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.” David, of course, became a king—this was the greatness that God had for David.
I want you to understand today that your greatness won’t be the same as David’s greatness. In fact, your greatness won’t be the same as mine nor mine as yours. All of us, as David said, were skillfully and wonderfully made. We all have our stories – our testimonies – and your testimony is great whether you think so or not.
The fact that you keep making each day is great and a wonderful blessing because this world does not want that. So, don’t worry about the greatness of others and desire their greatness. Move forward in your own greatness by recognizing God’s gift in you.
