Food For Thought

13 Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way…

We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed.

Romans 14:14; 2 Corinthians 6:3 NKJV

The words shared here by Paul are words that I believe every child of God needs to read and know today. Paul was the son of a Pharisee, one who knew the law very well as he was once a Pharisee (Phil. 3:5). So, Paul knew how overbearing those of religion could be towards others. The religious leaders arrested the apostles and did everything in their power to stop them from preaching the gospel! Gamaliel was the one that had to get those men to stop doing what they were doing (Acts 5:33-39).

I share this scripture with you today because God does not desire for dictators to be working on his behalf! Paul speaks of not offending anybody. We ought not offend our brothers and sisters in Christ, nor should we offend those outside of the faith. Don’t put a stumbling block before anyone because we don’t want to cause others to stumble nor tun away from God! The desire is to convince (persuade) others to taste and see that the Lord is good!

So, let us be good stewards of the Lord that is inviting and welcoming to all people. Let’s remember that God has given everybody the choice to choose Him. With that in mind, let us be patient with those around us just as God is patient with us. None of us are perfect – we should never think that we are.
