Food For Thought

40 But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”

Luke 19:40 NKJV

There are many living in the world today that loves to mock the Lord. Recently, I saw someone say, “poor God is begging for someone to love Him.” Anyone who feel that the Lord has been begging for love truly misunderstand the Lord. God doesn’t not beg for anyone to love Him. The Lord certainly encourages for one to love Him and to then love their neighbors as well but He does not beg for love.

Something we seem to not understand is that God does not need our love. Again, I will repeat to you: God doesn’t need your love! Now, some of you may look at me like I have lost my mind while others will shrug their shoulders. During His “triumphant entry”, the people shouted praises to heaven. The religious leaders cried out for Jesus to shut His followers up from praising and loving Him.

Look at Jesus’ response. If nobody praised nor loved the Lord, His creation would cry out. To say that God needs our love devalues God’s unmerited love of us. God loves us because He wants to love us. God doesn’t need your love but He hopes that you want to love Him.
