Food For Thought

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.

Isaiah 43:2 NKJV

God’s words through the prophet are certainly call backs to moments that we have seen in scripture. The Lord parted the Red Sea for the children of Israel to pass through on dry ground. Joshua led the children of Israel over the Jordan as it was also parted by God. We certainly would think of how the Lord was with the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnance as well.

Here is a verse that reminds us something that we simply forget at times – God is with us. Through thick and thin, the Lord will never leave us nor will He forsake us. So, why do we ever get so worried that the Lord has abandoned us? I am a person of hope which is why I don’t let the words of naysayers rest in my soul. You should never let the words of naysayers rest in your soul. As my dad used to say a long time ago, don’t let nobody tell you what you can’t do.

God, I want you to remember today, will go all the way to the end and beyond that with you. You may have something that you’re going through in this moment but you will not be destroyed. So, rest assured in God’s promise of deliverance because God will bring you through the fire and the storm!
