God is With You, Why Be Afraid | Psalm 23:4

Read This Passage: Psalm 23

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Psalm 23:4 NKJV

Do you know that God is always with you? It is very hard for us to hear and believe someone when they say that we have nothing to fear. Now, I can certainly understand it being hard to hear someone else tell you that you have nothing to fear, but why is it hard for us to hear that from the Lord? For me, it makes no sense because just as David said from his experience, the Lord is always with us.

Remember the Lord and all that He has done – all that He has brought you through. David spoke of how He felt comfortable – not fearful – of walking through the valley of the shadow of death. The valley that David spoke of was him figuratively speaking about going through troubling times. Walking through the valley of the shadow of death is similar to the storms of life that we often face. By faith, we make it through those storms as they pass over us. As those storms pass over us, God shields and protects us and gives us comfort when the storm may seem scary.

So, why be afraid of anything when God has already brought you through several storms and through many valleys? God has always been with you through all of your troubles so why be afraid? When God tells us not to fear, then we shouldn’t fear anything. God will bring us us through.
