God Is Your Refuge

Reverend Leo H. McCrary II

When you think that you are in a world of trouble, God’s walls can withstand the forces of the wicked.

Today’s devotional reading: Numbers 21:21-35

The child of God stands protected in the hands of the Lord. What can workers of hate, wickedness, death, and evil do to overcome the Lord, and therefore, overcome you?

Admittedly, we are under attack today, and at times, it feels like we are under attack on every side. Yet, in Psalm 46, David sang that God is our refuge and strength; He is a very present help in trouble. Because God is our refuge, David sang that we will not fear, though the earth be removed, the Lord is in the midst and shall not be moved.

Let us understand that, regardless of how the wicked may try to move against us, hinder us, and harm us, we are within the walls of the Lord. From within the walls of God, we shall prevail against those who would dare move against us because they have dared to move against God. There is nothing greater than the power of God that can do anything to overcome Him. There is nobody greater than our God to be able to overcome Him.

Sheilded and protected, we are from all sources of danger. In the presence of our enemies, we should not fear. In the midst of today’s troubles, let us not be moved by anything or anyone.
