God Is Your Sustainer, Don’t You Worry | Ps. 34:10

10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.
Psalm 34:10 NKJV
In this psalm, David encouraged one to simply give God a try. David sang, “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good.” You see, David had learned to rest in the comfort of God’s giving. As we know, David went from being a lowly shepherd boy to being king over all of Israel. David always acknowledged that he didn’t accomplish anything by his own ability but by the hand of God.
David lived his life trusting in God to provide and make a way for him. How many of us are living in completely dependent on God sustaining us. Now, I want you to think about that for a moment. Are you living with complete trust, no worries at all, that God is going to put food on the table? Are you living with complete trust, no worries at all, that God is going to keep clothes on your back, shoes on your feet, and a roof over your head?
David used the way the lion lives in comparison to how we live. When they aren’t sleeping, lions have to get up and hunt in order to survive. Many today live their life grinding and hustling, hustling and grinding all the day long. Sure, one works in order to put food on the table, however, isn’t life more than just grinding and hustling for material joy? Again, there are levels to living and grinding nad hustling for material joy shouldn’t be the way the child of God seeks to live.
Yes, do what is necessary to make it but at all times, depend on the Lord to truly satisfy and sustain your soul. Rather than grinding and hustling for the ‘joy’ that comes from materials, let us seek God’s giving. God’s giving, His providence, His sustenance, is greater than worldly prosperity.
