God’s Desire Towards You | Ezek. 33:11

Read This Passage: Ezekiel 33:1-11

11 Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’

Ezekiel 33:11 NKJV

So many of us have God completely mistaken. When things are going wrong in our life, we like to blame God. If we don’t have the finer things in life, we like to blame God. If we don’t have money in the bank, we like to blame God. Some of us truly believe that all God wants to do to us is to punish and destroy us; Job felt this same way when he was going through his suffering.

The truth of the matter is that God’s thoughts towards us are of peace, a future, and hope (Jer. 29:11). In other words, God wants what is best for you! Through his suffering and refusal to turn away from God, Job ended up prospering in life more than he did before his suffering. As the Lord shared with Ezekiel, He has absolutely no desire in the destruction of anybody, which even includes the sinner; God doesn’t take pleasure in the destruction of the sinner.

You see, God desires that all people be uplifted and prosper; He desires for you to be blessed. Because He desires for us to be blessed, God will rebuke us in our errors so that we can make the proper corrections in life. The question we must answer is whether or not we are going to ignore God’s correction and continue in our suffering or, will we actually realize that God loves us and choose to heed His correction? I know that I will do my best to heed His voice and I encourage you to do the same: turn from sin and heed God’s correction.
