God’s Faithulness Will Never Fade | Luke 8:27-28
March 28, 2025
27 And when He stepped out on the land, there met Him a certain man from the city who had demons … 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, “What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!”
Luke 8:27-28 NKJV
When I say that God is committed to you, I want you to understand that God is committed to you. The last thing you, the sincere believer, should ever think is that God has given up on you. The mere thought that God will give up on you goes against His nature. God is faithfulness. God is love. For God to give up on you would be Him denying His faithfulness and His love. Again, to be clear, God is never going to deny or betray Himself!
The certain man in this scripture was possessed by demons and went by Legion. This was a man that a whole town had given up on because he was demon possessed. You see, many of us get used to those around us giving up on us because of our downfalls and errors. What we end up doing is trying to put what others do onto God but God isn’t like us!
This demon-possessed man was looking for someone to have mercy on him in his plight. When I tell you that God is committed to us, I want you to pay attention to how Jesus treated this man. Did Jesus turn from him? Absolutely not. Jesus gave this man what he desired – He showed him mercy. There is no telling what all this man had done because he was possessed by many demons but Jesus kept him and blessed him.
People kicked this man out of their town! Their love for him faded away! God’s love and faithfulness, I want you to understand, will never fade away. So long as you continue to lean on Him, depend on Him, and trust in Him, God will always be there for you.
