God’s Help for the Godly
Reverend Leo H. McCrary II
You ought not ever think that you’re alone and without help on this journey.

Today’s devotional reading: Psalm 12:1-6
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet we are not crushed or destroyed. How have you withstood all the world has thrown at you? How have you withstood your trials, tribulations, afflictions, the efforts of the wicked, the evil, and the devil and his army? The blessing that all of God’s children have is that of perseverance. No matter what life seems to throw our way, we are able to not just endure it, but we overcome life in victory.
Yet, there are some who look at the believer and misjudge because the believer doesn’t surround themselves in earthly riches. The worldly man seeks to surround himself in gold and riches; he seeks to live lavishly, having heaven on earth. The words of the world man are so self-righteous that they will suggest that one should follow in their way so that they can also be blessed.
Yet, the works of such have left many living in worry about how they will fill their gas tanks or put groceries on their tables. However, the Lord says, “For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needing, Now I will arise; I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.”
It is better for one to dwell in the safety of the Lord than for one to dwell in the riches of this world In Psalm 34:19-20, David sang, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He guards his bones; not one of them is broken.” There is no blessing in this world that can beat God guarding your soul.
If you’re still standing today, feeling weighed down, call on the name of the Lord, and He will not let you fall.
